The world is heading to an unprecedented hunger crisis and it is estimated that the number of deaths due to starvation caused by Corona will exceed the number of deaths from the virus. The number of undernourished people in the world by 2030 could reach about 909 million people.
According to estimates by Oxfam International Charitable Organization, by the end of the current year (2020), the number of people in the world will die as a result of hunger associated with the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, to 12 thousand people per day, which is more than the number of deaths due to infection with the virus.
"This pandemic has truly demonstrated the extent of the cracks in the global system and where it begins to collapse," says Nate Mok, chief executive of the charity World Central Kitchen.
Experts expect more than 132 million people to die from hunger in the world this year, which is more than previous estimates.
