The Iraqi Ministry of Trade said on Thursday that it had closed the domestic wheat buying season, and had purchased more than five million tons of wheat.

A report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs released on Tuesday said the World Food Program would send 50,000 tons of wheat flour to Lebanon to stabilize the country's supplies.

The General Authority for Supply Commodities in Egypt issued a tender for the purchase of an unspecified quantity of wheat from international suppliers, to be shipped from September 25 to October 5.

The Lebanese Minister of Economy, Raoul Neama, revealed the extent of the damage left by the Beirut port explosion, explaining that the explosion spoiled the wheat in the silos in the port.
