The Egyptian Minister of Irrigation, Mohamed Abdel-Ati, announced that sensors will be placed inside the ground within six months to measure humidity by satellite. He explained that "a message will be sent on the mobile to inform the farmer of the possibility of irrigation or waiting, according to the percentage in the land, and the farmer will be able to operate irrigation via his mobile phone while he is sitting at home."
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for the necessity of developing the flood irrigation system and changing it with the modern irrigation system in order to increase the efficiency of using water resources.
