The Poultry Wealth Division in the Cairo Chamber of Commerce is studying the establishment of a poultry project with investments exceeding 2 billion pounds in the New Valley Governorate.
Abdul Aziz Al-Sayed, head of the division, revealed to “money” in the Chamber of Commerce that the study is being conducted in coordination between the Division and the Cairo Chamber of Commerce headed by Ibrahim El-Arabi, the National Bank and the Agricultural Bank, and includes the implementation of a large poultry wealth project that includes many small breeders.
He continued: "The project will be integrated, and includes all stages of poultry production, and also includes an institute for animal health training, a social club, and schools for workers."
The price of poultry currently ranges between 26-25 pounds per kilogram on the farm, and 30 for the consumer.
The government announced last July that companies could export poultry after a hiatus that lasted more than 14 years since the bird flu crisis in 2006.
