Russian endocrinologist, Elena Gubkina, revealed methods of cooking and eating potatoes that must be avoided.
According to her, potatoes should not be eaten with their skin, due to the accumulation of harmful substances from the soil and air.
She added that potatoes should not be exposed to high temperatures during cooking, noting that continuous frying leads to saturation of the product with fats and toxins.
The doctor advised peeling potatoes and boiling them or preparing them on steam, because this will give the largest amount of nutrients such as potassium, sodium and vitamin B6, according to the Russian "arguments and facts" website.
The doctor also indicated that it is possible to eat 200-300 grams of potatoes twice a week without harm to health.
