Finnish scientists announced that it is possible to produce food from air, water and electricity, as this will be done in special laboratories.
Scientists intend to produce synthetic protein, so that it will be highly concentrated and a kilogram of it can be enough to feed up to 10 people.
According to scientists, the protein will, within a period of 10 years, compete with soybeans in terms of price, noting that it consists of soil bacteria that feed on hydrogen, which in turn is separated from water using electricity, according to "ToDay News Ufa".
Meanwhile, the scientists confirmed that the production process will be environmentally friendly, as the greenhouse gas emissions from the process into the atmosphere will be extremely low.
The product includes 50% protein, 25% carbohydrates and 10% fat, and the first batch is planned to be produced by 2020.
