Antimicrobial drugs play a critical role in treating diseases, and their use is essential to protect human and animal health. However, it is often misused to treat and prevent diseases in the animal production sector and in aquaculture and crop production. These actions are often associated with the potential for the emergence and spread of microorganisms resistant to antimicrobial drugs.
