Dr. Svetlana Vos, a Ukrainian nutrition expert, revealed why many people feel hungry in the evening or at night.
The expert notes that dehydration is one of the reasons for feeling hungry and wanting to eat something light at night. It can also be caused by not eating enough food in previous meals.
"A light breakfast, a plate of salad and two cups of coffee at lunch, certainly lead to overeating in the evening," she says.
Based on this, the expert recommends eating a hearty breakfast and a light meal, followed by a full lunch.
"It is enough to eat three meals a day, provided that the calories are distributed among them evenly," she says.
She adds, preferably around five o'clock in the afternoon, eating the main meal, which is equivalent to 80% of the daily food intake, and eating a light dinner 3-4 hours before bedtime.
