Global Health: About 800 million people may have been infected with the Coronavirus

The World Health Organization said that one in 10 people around the world may have contracted the Coronavirus.

Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization's Health Emergencies Program, said in a statement that 10 percent of the world's population may have been infected with the virus.

He explained, "This varies from country to country. It differs from urban to rural, and it differs from one group to another."

"But what that means is that the vast majority of the world's population is still at risk. We know that the epidemic will continue to evolve, but we also know that we have tools that help us reduce transmission and save lives at the present time, and these tools are at our disposal."
