A simple drink to lower blood pressure

Scientists at Tokyo Medical University announced that tomato juice can reduce blood pressure and cholesterol in people at risk of heart disease.

The Food Science and Nutrition magazine indicates that the experts chose 481 volunteers, who during a year had to drink unlimited salt-free tomato juice, and during this period each volunteer recorded in a special notebook all the slight changes in his health status.

After the trial period ended, the researchers compared the indicators of all participants and discovered that most of the participants exposed to or suffering from high blood pressure had a 3% lower risk index.

Experts warn that salted tomato juice has an adverse effect due to its high sodium content. Therefore, they recommend consuming tomato juice without any additives.
